Design Review Member

This is a description for the job of Design Review Committee Member for Windover Farm’s Community Association, Inc. The CCR’s do have a comprehensive and legal description of the position, and should be taken as the official description for the position. This description is to break down the overall duties, and assist in understanding the general duties performed by the DRC of Windover Farms Community Association, Inc.

It is the job of a design review committee member to review resident(s) improvements or new building plans regarding their property, and ensure they are within guidelines of the “green book” A.K.A CCR’s.

Resident(s) submit plans or description of requested work to the Design Review Committee either via our PO Box or email (design.review@windoverfarms.org). We ask resident(s) to submit photos, blueprints, and complete the DRC request from located on the windoverfarms.org website (http://www.windoverfarms.org/wp/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/DESIGN-REVIEW-COMMITTEE.pdf)

Once a request is received, you set up a meeting in person, via phone, or you can work with other DRC members via email for approval / denial. Each request must be reviewed with the CCR’s to ensure compliance.

The CCR’s state a response must be given within 30 days, but I recommend responding within one to two weeks of getting the request. You need to respond to the resident with either approval, denial or request more information in writing or e-mail. If a design review request has not been responded to within 30 days, as stated in the CCR’s, the resident(s) can assume they can proceed. (See Page 28 / Section 4 of the CCR’s)

The Design Review Committee is required to keep record (hard copy) of all requests with attached approval or denial. The complete DRC files can be found within the Long Lake Park clubhouse.
If you have a DRC meeting, you will need to keep minutes of that meeting. You will then need to email the webmaster to have these posted online, and make sure the secretary gets a copy for the Board files.

The DRC is not there to dictate or judge what residence wish to do with their property, just ensure they stay within compliance so we can keep our neighborhood beautiful and property values up.
