While the HOA board as a whole is responsible for the financial health of the HOA.

Treasurer Has these duties

Record-keeping: All financial and accounting records are maintained by the treasurer. They also make sure all records are retained properly and kept secure. A monthly bank reconciliation is completed by the treasurer. Currently have on-line access to the HOA’s bank accounts. This allows for statements to be printed up and delivered to the HOA’s accountant within the first week of each month. A printed copy is also received by the bank, but sometimes doesn’t arrive until the third week of the month.

Budgeting: The HOA’s annual budget is prepared by the board treasurer. The ending year (final) and following years (projected) budget is completed for the HOA’s annual meeting that takes place in February. Two budgets are used, one for the general operation of the Association and the other for the operation of Long Lake Recreation Area. Each budget contains estimates of the cost of performing the functions of the HOA.

Auditing: The accounting and financial records of the HOA should be audited yearly, again we use Sunshine Accounting.

Insurance: Ensure proper insurance (casualty & liability) is renewed each year for the protection of HOA members and the Association. (park, and various parcels on Windover owned by HOA).

Taxes: Ensure corporation taxes are paid each year prior to April.
